Heat wrap
 

Who makes the best heat wrap? And is it best to apply dry or wet? This is for long tube headers ( not mine)

DEI makes some good stuff, that is what i used on my turbo stuff..

Apply it wet. When it dries it will shrink and be much tighter on the headers. Make sure and wear gloves or you will be hating life.

DEI titanium. Apply dry.

I've tried applying it wet, I've tried using the more expensive stuff. Now I just buy the cheap crap, wrap it dry, and tighten the shit out of it...works great. And luckily it doesn't bother my hands at all...sounds like fiberglass wrap really tears up some peoples hands.

DEI basic heat wrap. Apply it wet and dont need gloves.

I used dei titanium. I applied it wet because that's what the directions suggested. I recommend gloves just to keeps your hands from turning black.

i used cheap stuff and DEI titanium. Both wet. Pull it tight and I over lap 1/2 not 1/4 like the directions. Yes youll go through more but its worth it.

Let dry for 24 hours.

Use high temp DEI silicone paint with two decent coats. I just re did my cross over.

I have used expensive 60$ to cheap 17$ rolls.
Both wet and dry.
I prefer to suffer and install it dry with stainless hose clamps.

Seriously tho, expensive DEI wrap is 100X easier install.
Less fiberglass splinters, smoother appearance once installed and seems to work better (1/2 overlap). Tested with infrared temp gun and touching and the amount of carbon that comes out during install.

They way I like to do it now. If given the chance.

High end DEI up top where visible, where high temps really matter and on technical wraps.
Cheap ebay down below, not visible and needing to cover large sections of pipe and overall performance isn't really a issue.
