Default Headstuds

I posted up last week about my truck overheating, found out I was lifting the driver side head. Our engine builder told me that re-torquing them is a temporary fix, and if it happens again I'll likely blow a headgasket or some ****. He thinks the head (s) may be warped a little bit and said he'd shave the heads for $125 and find a suitable headgasket to run. They are Patriot Stg 3 heads with ARP studs and the truck has a 11:1 370 in it. Is it necessary to pull the heads and have them shaved?
