Default which heads to go with?

im looking into getting a cam soon and im wanting to get a couple of things to go along with it. im looking to get maybe a 2600 - 2800 stall. and some new heads to go with the cam. i know that the 5.3 heads are only good up to .580's? if i was told correctly. i was looking into getting some 6.0 heads ported and polished. which ones would be good for a camshaft that is from the 1600 to 6200ish rpm range.? camshaft setup would be appreciated as well. maybe a 212/218 maybe a little bigger. yeah a little bigger!!!

Best bang for the buck is TSP or Patriot. I have the TSP ls6's, we just had a member gain 31 rwhp with the stage 2.5 5.3 heads on a cammed 6.0. That's very impressive for a $1000 set of heads. Watch out for haters.

You're going to lose compression bigtime. 6.0 heads on a N/A 5.3 is a mistake.

Yea you're going to lose power not gain any. That's not going to be a good setup. Send the heads back or something

Default heads

ok i was just going by what a local shop guy had told me about.i was gonna get them from him and port and polish them. he said he was sure that my 5.3 would run way better but it seems that yall may be right i would lose compression.i guess im not sure if he knew what he was saying.well no harm done i dont have them so i guess ill keep the stock heads and throw in that zex kit im wanting.i just got the asp ud pulleys, alternator od pulley and some new belts so thats what im working with now.anyone know if the 160 thermosate whould help, i know of one for sale here and not sure if i should get it. or what other not soo expensive things would help.im getting a 2 piece driveshaft soon since i already snapped mine once at 85,those 4.10's r killing me on the top end since i cant go over 85
