i have an 01 5.3, im looking for a good heads and cam combo. can yall please give me some good ideas?

 

id say west coast cylinder heads 5.3 heads and get a cam matched to the heads

 

I have Heads from West Coast Cylinder Heads, with Z06 cam,
it rocks after 3500rpm it's bullet train.
I highly recommend richard@WCCH, there customer service is top of the line along with there product,

 

what kind of hp are yall pushing?


the motor has 75k miles on it and is my daily....would it be worth it to go ahead and rebuild the bottem end as well?

 

I gain about 60at WHP with Head and Cam combo.
watch out for your tranny, it will have to be rebuild soon or later.

 

I also have a set of Stage 1 WCCH heads on my 5.3. I gained 30lb-ft of torque and 6 peak hp with them. I was gaining a lot more hp (like 20) before the the curve flat lined at 5200 rpm. I think my maf might be partially clogged with K&N filter oil which is hurting my top end. Plus I have a new cam ready to be installed to help get enough air into the heads.

The truck pulls like crazy though.
