What kind of truck is it. NBS (99-06) NNBS (07+) -- If you're in a NBS, which I'm assuming since you put TBSS and 90mm Throttle body as mods, and have the standard LM7 5.3, the heads will have to be milled .030 to maintain compression ratio.

I'd obviously go ahead and grab them, then see what machining them would cost, then make your decision.

So is it safe to say you are a "spirited" street driver with a little track time?

With a 3k stall normal driving will be fine and on highway the convertor will lock and drive like a stock stall.

Buy the 243's, mill them .030 and use a .040 head gasket to up the compression a little. The bigger runners on the heads will make the very bottom end a little softer, but the bump in compression will help lessen that and they should pull very hard up top. I have a 9.5" Vigilante in my crew cab set as tight as they can make it and I love it for a daily driver. It stalls about 2800-3000 but its not bad to drive. I've had an 18' car hauler with my 71 Camaro on it, behind the truck and it towed just fine.
