Right now there is no fix for it, gm told them it was the alternator regulators charictaristics and that they could change everything around the alternator and battery and it still wouldnt fix it. SO the dealer has to make a case, and now we have to wait for them to come up with a solution. It affects any 99-2003 truck/suv right now. They didnt know why it automatically started doing this now instead of 99, and 2000, 2001. They said that the engineers were working on it, and to check back every week or so until they have figured it out.

Ill let you know if I find out anything else. You do need to go to the dealer even if the truck is not under warranty anymore and start a case, that way they wont be able to say just live with it. They will be forced to do something with enough complaints.

Sounds like a ground problem. Either lack of or not a firm contact, or something grounding out. One that sounds like it may become worse with moisture. Grounds are not easy or fun to find. Anyone have the wiring diagrams for their truck and a meter?
