i here you dont get much horse pwer from the hp3 but i think you'd probably get better results from it than some shorty headers. Shorties wont give you much of a power gain. I'd go for a custom tune and thats what alot of others will tell you.

I would get the HPP3 over the shorty headers.. The Hypertech is a proven 4/10 of a second off your 1/4 mile times.

I would go witht eh HPP3. Shorties are a waste IMO. Get the longer ones or go with out I'd say.

I think my truck will run with a HPP3 truck plus a couple of bolt ons.

I ran a ECSB the other night from about a 50 roll. I took him once we hit it and kept pulling til I hit 95 where my throttle backs off cause of the speed limiter. I held him off til I hit 100 where he came sailin passed me. That tells me he had to have some kind of programming to get that kind of speed. I don't know what else he had done if anything though.

From what I've read here on this site, the most people are getting out of a custom tune on a truck with a few bolt ons is like 6 to 7 tenths. I got at LEAST 5 tenths out of my HPP3. Look at my sig and see what my truck ran with only a single catback, intake, and HPP3. I think the Hypertech is a great bargain, and you can always sell it on EBAY for at least $200. So whats not to like? You sell your truck or upgrade to a newer one and how much can you re-coup for the custom tune you spent $400 on?? NADA. So really, your only out $100 for the Hypertech considering it will always be worth something. Plus, if you change wheels like I do in the winter, you can correct your speedometer with the Hypertech. It really works for me.

Well a HPP3 adds like maybe 12-15rwhp if you are lucky...I'd like to know how that slight powergain and raised shift points gave ya .5 sec. Maybe you have a freak truck or HPP3 changed up their tuning. Did ya get .5 with the mods and the programmer?

My tune wasn't $400 either...so...I dunno know about that.

Did you pick up any fuel economy from your HPP3?

my opinion. are you going to keep modding? do you have many mods in mind in the near future.if you are wanting to go a little faster now then go hpp3.with a hpp3--5 tenths-ok-maybe. better than a custom tune.---NO WAY--.show me an hpp3 that takes out tqm.speed limiter at 250mph.no overdrive till 55mph.and so on and so on.edit is number one and that is exactly what a custom tune is.
