Headers for H2?
#1
I have another buddy asking me about headers for his 2005 H2 SUT. I told him about the Dyno Techs but he does not want to spend $1300-1400. I called SLP and they said they do not have headers for the H2. Are there any H2 guys on here or does anyone know of a H2 forum.
He is wanting to spend at the most $600-700 and keep all his emissions. So I need to know if the headers are shorties, mids, or LT and if they maintain the factory ypipe and cats. Also would prefer some that are a direct bolt on with no welding required.
TIA

I've been to the hummer forum and it is not good. Much better hp tech info here. If you're not an offroader and are an average dude you won't be in the club. They don't have moderators either so anytime they don't like you they start slinging insults and trying to slander your family on every post you make. Ask me how I know...
The Edelbrock shorties are in the $300-$400 range and the good headers are the same price as you've seen for truck headers. If your bud is willing to go to an exhaust shop to handle the fitment and fabrication issues he might be able to use the new pacesetters. Exhaust ain't cheap.
However, the Magnaflow catback is a good deal and you should be able to get it for about $450. All you need is an angle grinder or a saws-all to cut the pipe before it goes over the rear axle to get the stock one off. The new one goes on easy in two pieces. All in all the whole removal and replacement takes a little over an hour.
Feel free to search my posts to see what I've done with mine. I try to put H2 in every subject so it is easier.
Good luck and tell him not to be a dick- Skip the H2 forum and register over here
Some of us are cool.

Beleive me I know about going with the LT over shorties. I have told him on the cars that shorties are a total waste of money. He just will not pay that much for headers. He also wants a direct bolt on and to keep his factory cats even though I have told him they are a major restriction also. Do any of the shorties bolt on directly with the factory ypipe or will all of them require some welding to work?
CHarris thanks for the info on the H2 forum I will let him know and see if I can get him on here. He already has the Magnaflow catback and has a Eaton SC to go on at the same time as the headers. He wanted me to tune it for him but since it is AWD I am not going to be able to. There is not a AWD Dyno locally so he is going to be stuck with the handheld tunner that came with the kit.
On the cars the differeance between LT and shorty headers can be 30+ RWHP depending on the setup. Is it the same on the H2?
