Default Headers for the cheap?

So looking at header prices today at summit racing. They had these 150 buck ones that were summit brand? I assume they are junk right?

Anyways, looking at the under 300 buck ones. "Shorty" style which I am still not sure what that means.

Any suggestions?

Long tubes are the best way to go. Look into the Pacesetter's.

Complete bolt on? Still have my cats?

I have the cats turned off but I want to have them there so atleast they look like its street legal... Hollowing them out soon...

Also, looking at them online they dont look like they have flanges on the side that goes to the Y pipe... Whats with that? Are they weld on or something?

The y pipe is a slip fit connection onto the collectors, and they don't retain the cats. Gutting the cats doesn't help at all, and if you have the rear O2's set to "no error reported" you'll still pass emissions testing. The Pacesetter Longtubes and ORY will bolt up to any cat back system you have right now.

On PT everyone loves Pacesetters. Not a lotta coin for what u get. I bit the bullet & got Dynatech LT w/ hi flow cats(yes way more than $300). I wanted to last & no leaks!!! Plus they make power!
Shorties, r just that. They're short. Designed to outflow manifolds, some...maybe all, don't require cuttin, no custom Y-pipe, keep all o2 hookups in factory locations. Less power, minimal $.
LT(long tubes) - longer. May or may not req. cutting, welding maybe. When u cut, usually u weld too. Most power, $ depends. My Dynatechs hookup factory location on o2s, slip fit; thick, flat flanges, & s/s. No cut/ no weld. Would I buy these again? YES!!! I know they breathe!
In the end, buy for your budget & goals.
