Headers with cats
#12
Have you noticed a lot of low end with the bassanis? With so many header options it really is quiet hard to choose. I'm trying to get the most out of the truck while keeping my milage about the same if not better.
I don't know if I said but my truck is a 2000 2wd NBS ECSB 1500 silverado with a 5.3L. I have a 6" lift with 35" tires and 4.56 gears in the rear. My only mod so far is volant CAI. Looking to do a black bear tune right after the headers. I may think about a very mild cam a lot later but that's about it.
With that being said can anyone recommend some good options? Also if I were to get an uncatted y how much are cats(if I can get them). The cost of coatings and cats may offset some of the more expensive headers

When i swapped my pacesetters i had to use my stock Y which my exhaust man had to modify. There was a diff route but it was going to cost me an extra 175 bucks. My.exhaust looks almost.stock with the welds. They guy had trouble but he was able to tuck those cats in there. Good luck bro

I'm looking at the thourley headers and noticed they say LEGAL ON 1999-2001 trucks. Would that be the way to go? I mean it's Kim of have your cake and eat it too. Plus they are long tubes from what it says. Just need to shell out a little more for them and I guess still buy cats if that's possible?

Everything that I've heard about Tri-y's has been positive...as you mentioned, they're known for performing well down low, and if they're 50 state legal, then it's a no-brainer IMO.
