Hedman Street tubular exhaust manifold system 1 5/8"
unfortunately, in our lovely state of Kalifoeneeya laws clearly state that any modifications other than stock will NOT considered to be legal. SO you are limited on header choices especially when looking for long tubes. Check out the Hedman Street shorties with 1 5/8" primary tubes that will be an easy bolt-on to the stock collector and will carry an E.O.# approved by C.A.R.B.
regular painted black part# 69680 with EGR
regular painted black part# 69681 with EGR and A.I.R. tubes
regular painted black part# 69690 without E.G.R.
HTC ceramic coated part# 69686 with E.G.R.
HTC ceramic coated part# 66684 with E.G.R. and A.I.R. tubes
HTC ceramic coated part# 69696 without E.G.R.
Any header will provide noticable gains over the restrictive stock cast manifolds for sure. Average gain with these shortes has been proven to between 8-12hp average of course your results may vary.

Lol, i didnt think an impression of the govanatah would have worked so well, but that was pretty good!
and yes i am well aware that there are a ton of shorty headers that have carb e.o.#'s that make them legal and they are cheaper. What im looking for is a performance comparrison between shortys and midlengths and if there is a substantial gain in the midlengths. the bassani midlengths i am looking at getting have a carb number to them also and the primarys are longer, there system has you cut the stock y pipe right above the cat and there headers include a new flange that clamps on your cut down y pipe.
Bassani's
vs lpp shorty's

If I lived in Cali and only had a choice of shorties or mid-lengths, I'd spend the extra coin for the mids. The reports that I remember reading from guys who were running mid lengths a few years back, before PaceSetter and all those hit the scene, is that they were a nice improvement over stock...IF my memory serves me right (I'm not making any promises lol). Shorties don't do diddly, I have first hand experience with this. My old Gibson's were quality shorties in their construction, but I didn't feel any gains with them whatsoever.
BTW, ASM's were LT's and not CARB approved...

thanks for the input guys!
ill ask here but i should probably post a new thread...
if i got the bassani's and installed them, would i need to have my truck tuned? I wouldnt think so because i would still be using all of the 02 sensors, but im not sure.
