Hard starts on my 2001 5.3L Tahoe
#1
Hey folks. I noticed that my middle of the day starts are often pretty hard. It takes a 2-3 seconds to get the thing started up. It's typically right before I drive home from work or at lunch. Am I just draining my battery with my stop and go commutes to work each morning?
I heard a fella on here mention to check the vacuum return for the fuel line on top of the engine. I checked for water and found none there. Any ideas? I could always bump the alternator to a 200 amp unit if it's just me driving habits. As for auxilary draws, I have a solid stereo, but I never really turn it up. I have some auxilary lamps, but they're HID, so they only draw 35 amps after I get the arc stabilized. Any ideas?
What are all the normal things I can check myself.

What you needed to check was the vacuum reference line coming out of your fuel regulator. Pull the vac. line off while not running, if fuel runs out you need a new fuel reg.

I think I may have mentioned this in a previous post, why don't you take the battery negative end off and put a multi meter in series with B- post. I think .32mA is the max allowable.
