Default H/C LQ4 vs LS2 stock

Ok guys I've been off here quite a while and on the tbss forum. I have the opportunity to install a lq4 with patriot stage 2 317 heads and a custom cam for my nitrous setup on my TBSS. Guys on the tbss site seem to be pretty partial to sayin the 1.5:1 compression difference I will actually be losing power if I swap the lq4 in. I just don't see how a heads cam lq4 will have less than a stock 400 hp ls2.
Guys, chime in and let me know what you think

We would need to know more about the heads and cam you are putting in. Its not necessarily a 1.5 compression drop if the heads have been milled.

I also don't know much about the nitrous world. Does n2o like compression?

Nitrous likes anything, especially compression lol. I'd stick to an ls2 and cam that motor later.

The LS2 is also lighter, why not mod the LS2?

yeah you'd be gaining, from what the interweb says, about 100 extra pounds from that block. Plus the LS2 is the ****.

Cant go wrong either way. Id stick with the LS2 for spray and just get a LQ4 for boost.

milled ported heads on the lq4 would make more power than a ls2...put those milled heads on the LS2 and have even more compression, but possible PTV issues if you run a big cam.

I think there is only a 60lb difference between an iron and aluminum block. and nitrous doesn't give a F*ck what compression you're at...so I say go as high as you can for the gasoline available in your area

Bolt on/tune ls2 will make 460hp. 9.5cr lq4 with nitrous cam ported heads would be 460-480hp. Id say they would be close in performance in a truck

how much would you have to mill to get 10.5 from the 317 on a lq4 i'm sure you can get them down .040 without any problems.

I ran the math once, I know it was 9.9-1 with a .020 mill on a lq4. So you could get close with .040
