BigTex I think it it will be a good run with your whipple on there. How many pounds of boast are you running ? Also what type of cam do you have ?
And what size of stall do you have ? I've got a 3500 Vig. in my vette and I love it.

I saw a stock 2002 HD run 14.14 in the 1/4 mile at Englishtown NJ.
My stock 2002 Lightning ran 13.43 @ 101.8 and weighed in at 4884 Lbs. The HD motor just needs a $75 pulley to have the same boost as the Lightning which is 9.5Lbs.
I don't see how a 5500 Lbs Z71 can beat a 2002 HD without some serious help.

02 HD = ~5300lbs
02 L = ~4670lbs

That's .6 in 1/4
add .4 for 40 less hp
both 3.73, but subtract for HD b/c L has better gearing effect b/c wheels/tires are about an inch shorter, let's say .1

Not to mention the HD probably has a less aggressive engine tuning. But I won't count that.

Tha equals 1.1 seconds slower than an L. So, if you ran 13.43 1/4 then a stock HD should run ~14.5 1/4.
So, you either saw a modified HD or you didn't read the numbers right. Or it was a really cold night, but then you would have run better than 13.4

Hey Roger - I'm still planning on meeting you guys out at Redline. BUT, there is a chance I might bite the bullet and head down to Ennis, so I can get a few 1/4 mile times in. Do you have an idea what time you plan on going out there?

I was working late in Greenville on Wednesday, and stopped by redline on the way back home. They had a cardborad sign telling everyone that they were closed for upgrades or something like that. I did talk to a guy there for a bit - Said I planned on racing your son in the new HD. He said he has seen him out there (smoke grey right?) and noticed that he also had a vette. So I figure it must have really been you.

I hope we have some cooler weather.

Hello Jeff - Just checked the radar. Doesn't look too good. What time are you planning on going out there (if the weather holds)?

Well just talked to my father and he is scared of hail. The news says there is a good chance of hail so I think we will skip the track unless the thunder cells break-up. So as of right now we will have to cancel. But if we do go I will post it up here by 6:30.

I am about 20 miles east of Dallas. It is about to rain on me here, so I'm not going either (which makes my wife happy) Lets reschedule. I'l really like to see your truck.

Likewise on seeing your truck !!

I just bought my wife a little s70 volvo with a little turbo. I love anything with boost now. I think I'll try to get her to bring it out too.

Hopefully we can get some good air one day soon.

Have a great weekend.

Jeff

P.S. Do you have LS-1 edit on your truck ?

We could use some tips on timing on my pops vette.
I really dont want to mess that up.

Sounds good. I have had LS1 edit since February. I'd be happy to show you what I know. Do you have autotap or an OBD2 scanner of some kind? Having that is the biggest help for tuning.

My supercharger sure loved the cool weather we had this spring.
