Well got to only make one pass since it was crowded but she did 15.50 at 90mph with a crappy 2.31 60 foot time and no tirespin. Maybe I should try some different launch techniques. Th truck shifted from 1-2 at 5900rpm and crossed the traps at the top of 2nd gear. These factory 3.42's blow. The MPH gives me hope though. Wonder what it would have ran if I ran it more?

Actually it makes 247rwhp in 2nd gear(252rwhp in third) now with the HPP we just put in it on the 87 octane tuning. It lost 4hp across the graph with the 93 tuning and I had 92 octane it!!

I ran it without the HPP tuning Friday..doubt the 2hp is gonna do much but not having to manually shift, 6200 rev limiter and 128mph top speed limiter is nice.

A guy I know has 2001 5.3 auto RCSB and he ran 15.01 at 90mph...figured I'd be closer to that, guess not.

Those times arent that bad. I ran my truck this past weekend, twice actually and pulled two 15.6's. Your truck should definitely be able to knock a few tenths of your 15.5, especially when considering its a regular cab and quite lighter than my extended cab, with its huge snug top .

Your 60 fts arent too bad either, at least I dont think so. A 2000 dodge dakota reg cab with a 318 and no mods was at the track with me and was running 2.4 60 fts. Of course he didnt have a locking diff though. Your truck has the factory locker right?

Anyway its cool to see some 03's out there!

How was your traction?

Were you leaving off idle or stallin it up a bit?

Just curious how it works for non-4x4s.

For my best times I have to be in Auto4wh drive mode then stall it up to the point of pushing (around 1800rpm I think). If I try this in 2wh drive then I spin.

So I imagine it must be tough to get a good launch in a 2wh drive short bed and obviously that can leave a lil ET on the table.

It has a locker in it and I stalled it to 1800rpm when I staged. Wonder if I try off idle if it will launch harder? No tirespin at all.
I do know that it gets up off the line the first 5 feet ok then it sits on its *** til it hits 4000rpm. I could see how a convertor would do wonders for these trucks!

Hahaha yeah, I agree. I am used to the launches in my T/A and when I try to launch the truck I'm like WTF? GO DAMN IT!!! LOL

I would love to drop a Y3000 stall in this thing but looks like I'll be switching the converter in my T/A yet again so there goes that mone

I would rev the engine up a bit but not as high as 1800 rpms. Doing this would have really had my rear end spinning.

With this method, reving the engine a little above idle I would still spin the tires for at least 10+ feet but then the truck would really pull hard. I am DYING to drop in a stall converter since I KNOW it would make a HUGE difference! These trucks have some serious power put off the line my truck can launch pretty poorly

Hopefully that diablo will help with that, which Im sure it will!
