my take, make your own intake ($60). buy a dual in dual out magnaflow muff w/ the x inside it and dump it ($95 not including having it installed), ngk plugs ($15 at most), wires (i paid 50 for used MSD), Underdrive pulley ($240 w/ belt), LS1 fans and a VSC ($150), if you don't have 3.73 gears find a set for sale on here, or 4.10's. you can get either for around ($100 used) with the money left over get a tune from nelson.

also, you can leave one of these out and get the transgo shift kit and a vett servo for around 140.

meaning a short pipe coming off the muffler that turns down before the axle - my pipe is about half as long now as it was in this pic

alot of people say 'turn down' or whatever, it just makes for a deeper exhaust tone/stealth look/cheaper (no tip)

If i just buy the muffler then i won't have the tubing running from the manifolds to there. Do they carry that at the shop? Also would the dual in dual out be too much flow?

shop will have the pipe, not sure about dual, probably just affect the sound unless youre talking about actually dualing it out off the manifolds, but I think a Y pipe setup w/single pipe is fine for flow - mines 3" after the Y pipe

if you stick with a 2.5" to a 2.5" on a dual/dual setup you will be fine.
