Default Got Nelson Tune, Have Q's

I just got a Nelson tune on my y2k 4.8 silvy with just a magnaflow cat-back, and cai. First off, great guy to talk to, and very helpful.

But I have a coulpe questions for anyone that has one, did it seem to do anything right away? Does it get better as time/miles go up?

I only ask because after reading all of the "wow its so much better" responses on here I was expecting a bit of a difference right away. The only thing I have noticed so far is that it shifts a bit firmer, and the top speed limiter is gone... I did get the 93 tune, and 80% tq management removed. I do have about 200 miles on the tune now.

I just wanted someone elses thoughts before I bug allen about it.

Thanks a bunch!

Don't get discouraged. The PCM will have to learn some stuff. Give it some time. I had the 4.8 in my last truck and had feelings similar to you. Most guys are driving 5.3s and I think you can get a little more out of the tune for those trucks. Also I have heard that the gas you buy in the winter is not as "potent" as the gas you will be able to get after it warms up.

I noticed a huge difference immediately. He actually tuned mine at the track, and without any learn time I gained .3 sec, and 3 mph at the track. I ran before his tune, pulled up and had him tune it, then drove straight to the staging lane. Nothing else changed inbetween the runs. I would be willing to bet that if you ran it before/after at the track you would be able to see the difference.
