Got my transmission back.
#1
I got my transmission back last weekend from it's rebuild. Most of you know my uncle was doing the rebuild. I'm not sure exactly what was replaced and switched because he hasn't written up my bill yet but my complete Transgo kit was installed and he got rid of those crappy little return springs in the 2-4 clutch. I'll post up the parts listing when I get the bill from him. I also wasn't able to install my Yank TT 3000 due to the fact that it didn't show up until many days after I needed it. I even ordered way ahead of time so that it would've been here. Instead he installed a 2000 stall GM converter which is still better than the stock unit but nothing compared to what the Yank would've been. Aside from not having the Yank in there the transmission is working out GREAT! All of the shifts are quick and firm. I can easily get rubber on the 1-2 shift and a very decent chirp on the 2-3 shift and that's on my Toyo Proxes. I don't even want to know how bad it would spin with the stock tires.
Total cost including the GM converter came to around $1400. Now all I have to do is give it some time to break in. I'll be picking up a tranny cooler very soon.
