I got home from work last night and it had arrived
, I proceeded to unload the HPP and returned the truck to stock. The Proflash instructions say you have to pull three 10A fuses before you load a program but they list five and show there locations on the two fuse boxes. Looks like there all just auxilary lighting and stuff, dome light, hood light, etc. I loaded the Tow/Haul mode on all the options and set the ping control for 0% right now (no change), then took the truck out for a quick spin. The first thing I noticed is that it carries each gear a little longer during normal driving than the HPP did but not as far as the trucks Tow/Haul mode when you use the button on the end of the shift lever. The shifts in the mode aren't as firm as the trucks Tow/Haul mode or as firm as the HPP. The truck felt quicker, just pulled easier cruising around after each shift. Only did one 0-60 run and the truck was quicker than with the 93 HPP tuning (I did a run before I got home) by a tenth (6.55 to 6.45). I still don't like the fact that these Escalade tires have made me .4 seconds slower 0-60. The shift was sooner than were I had the HPP set (+3 for 1-2)though, about the stock point of 5600 for, that's the one thing I would miss about the HPP, is being able to pick the shift points myself. I can tell the TM has been removed some because when the truck shifts it shift faster and doesn't have that slite bog after the 1-2 shift, it just shifts then pulls. I know that was a quick test but I've already loaded the Hi-Performance mode and am off to run some errands. I'm using 89 fuel setting because in California we only have 91 and the high setting is for 93. I'll listen for pings in this mode then up the ping control +5% to advance the timing some more and see if I get a ping. Airdeano said to do this if you're running 91 gas, use 89 setting and +5% ping control. I'll report back.

What other modes does the Proflash have besides the Tow/Haul mode? Is there a website that has some more info on the Proflash?

All the settings are user choice unlike the HPP which asks you if you want to install HPP generic tuning or custom tuning which is where you pick the rev limiter, shifts points, etc. With the Proflash, you pick the fuel tuning (low, mid, hi), engine tuning, trans tuning & trans shifts (the choices for each are, stock, economy, tow/haul or hi-perf). You can calibrate the speedo for gear or tire changes also. What you can't pick are the actual rpm shift points for each gear like with the HPP, which I don't like. The Proflash doesn't shift as high as I had my HPP set for (+3 5984 & +11 5948), shifts seem to occur at about 5700 or so. The truck is quicker, no doubt 0-60 but I don't know how it'll do in the 1/4 with it shifting alot sooner out of 2nd that I would like (seems like about a +5 setting for the HPP). I didn't have any pinging in Hi-perf with 89 setting and +0% ping control and but low end was better in the tow/haul mode than in the Hi-perf mode. I just reloaded another program, tow/haul tuning, 89 fuel (using 91) with +5% ping control (advances timing), tow/haul tans tuning and Hi-perf shift firmness. I ran a few errands again this AM and with the Hi-perf tuning for all setting, the trans holds each gear quite a bit longer than stock, which does make the truck seem snappier around town. I'm going on a 150 miles road trip today for my son baseball team, all-star tournament, so that should give the computer a good time to adjust. I'll do a couple more 0-60 runs tomorrow night after work and report back.

I guess it's taken some TM out but it's hard to tell. There isn't that slight bog or hesitation after it shifts now but it doesn't bang the gears either. The shifts with the HPP were quicker, then it bogged and then pulled again. With the Proflash, it actually seems like it takes longer to shift, like it's drawn out some but it just keeps pulling, no bog. The one thing I don't like is that it shifts to soon, about 5700 for 1-2 and 2-3. I liked the HPP pulling each gear longer, especially the 2-3 shift. My little road trip yesterday did involve alot of one lane road driving and I had to pass several trucks. That's where I noticed the early shifts from 2-3, the HPP would pull to 82 mph and the SPE shifted about 78, big difference. I don't know if it's because there's a power drop off about 5700 and that's why SPE has it shift there or not but I think it's leaving some performance behind. My truck pulls well up to about 5900 and that's where I would like it to shift at. I'm going to e-mail SPE and Airdeano (he posts on the FSC site and works for SPE) to see if I can get my Proflash custom programmed to shift higher. Other than that, it drives better around town, holds each gear longer so it's not lugging after each shift while your just cruising around town. I've got it set for 89 fuel (using 91), +5% ping control, tow trans tuning, tow engine tuning, perf shift firmess. No pinging with the advanced time of the +5% ping control. I'll do a couple of 0-60 runs tonight and check it but it does feel quicker.
