Got a ? on launching in Auto 4WD
Ok I did a search but never got a definative answer. I was wondering how safe it is to launch in auto 4WD? Most say it is fine, and that they have many passes using it without a problem. Using this technique is awesome. (This is with a G-tech) But with 2wd the best i could run was 0-60 in 8.8 and 1/4 in 16.8 at 83.5 mph. After Lanching at 2 grand in auto4WD I got a best of 0-60 in 7.78 and 1/4 mile in 16.12 at 86.7 mph. I know the mph is about 3 mph high compared to what it would be at the track but I know that the Gtech is at least consistant and that is a huge gain. Any ways I was just wondering what you guys thought about the reliability and does the improvement sound about right?

Re: Got a ? on launching in Auto 4WD
i launched in auto4wd for a long time and never had any problem, once i got a stall the way it engauges seemed to make for a more violent launch so now i race in 4hi. i had similar results as you, no matter what i tried i couldn't go in 2wd without some wheel spin and was always slower in 2wd.
i have pulled a best of 3.67 0-60 in 4hi.
