got the cam spec'ed from Pat G , need your help

yes have two gaskets and will make my own tool , will not cost more than 10$

any one did this cam swap... if you did it agine any tool that you like to have to make it easier

keep in mind, if you're planning on swapping out the timing chain . . . the oil pump has to come off . . . . that means drop the oil pan, pull off the pickup tube, then the oil pump.

After doing that, the o-ring must be replaced. . . if it's reused, you run the risk of having low oil pressure.

You should update your first post with your list of parts

i wont buy the melling high volume untill i recive my parts and calc my shiz

ill check my pump for now maybe just keep the dampner and newer chain for later when my current pump fails
my truck has 65,000 hard miles and its only getting harder

don't get the high volume pump . . . a high pressure or higher than stock pressure pump is great.

If you do the high volume, you can "pump" the oil pan dry at high RPMs . . . and I'm guessing that you do that a ton

is that even possible?
i add 1 extra quart so its 7 quarts with filter change
i see one guy i know has been doing this to his TBSS for a long time and no problems

the parts arrived to the shipping forworders but they didnt ship the parts yet.
the cam arrived in 11/10 and the tsp parts 10/10 and the pace parts 15/10
the valve springs should be here tomorow or saturday ill post pics andf updates once i have some

I would like to know this as well, I recently did a LQ9 swap and used a Melling high volume pump. PSI seems to be solid up to 6,000+rpms but after alot of hard revving sometimes i hear a lifter tap for a minute or so. Maybe air in the oil passages from the high volume pump sucking the oil level too low?

hey take another pic with the valley cover upside down. I don't think that you have the right gasket for it. It looks like a LS1 gasket. The LS2 or GEN IV or newer. It's usually green
