Default Going with a bigger cam worth it?

I can't really think of any other mods to do now other than some heads, but with the current cam I have now, I don't know if heads would be worth it. I was wondering if I should get a much larger cam like a 228/230 112 LSA cam and a 3000 rpm stall. I know some of you here have gone with bigger cams, and I was wondering if it was worth it or not.

Youve got a nice cam there Id keep it and do a valve job and mill the heads about .050 I wouldnt go over a stage one job on the heads. But honestly you need longtubes and good exhaust to really see the performance from a cam like that backpressure isnt a good thing.
Why dont you like the cam?

silver: that sig gets me everytime I have to read it and try and figure out what the hell hes saying

You dont even have all the bolt ons yet man. You need a good stall, lts, a real exhaust, efans, UD pulley then start thinking about a bigger cam. Going ot a bigger cam with stock heads is going to give oyu negligable gains anyway since the stock heads are only going to flow so much.

I'm on the stock stall right now and I really don't want to do LTs because of all the fabrication and it will make my truck really loud. However, if LTs weren't a problem for me I would get those, some e-fans, underdrive pullies, and a 160 thermostat. But out of those mods I just mentioned, the only one of those that is worth anything are the LTs and like I said I don't want them. So instead of all that, I was just thinking about going with some heads, stall, and a much larger cam.
And to 02sierraz71-5.3, I love the cam I have now. It added a lot more power that I thought it would, but I've been told that I need a larger cam to take full advantage of some heads.

putting a 3K stall wih that 220 alone would make a world of difference... what about gears???

There isnt any fabbing at all with the pacesetters and ORY. You can weld in a resonator in front of oyur muffler to quieten it down. Ill take you for a ride in my truck when its back up and running. You just need the right exhaust system. CORSA! Efans are worth 1.5mpg and 10hp and the UD pulleys are worth 10hp. Nickels and dimes add up

Short answer "NO". Get all the boltons and build your tranny. I have the same cam and all the boltons and the only reason I would go with a bigger cam is if I get a bigger motor.
