Default Is GM saving money?

My 2k had 2&7/8 pipe for the exhaust. My 2k2 had 2&7/8 even my parents Avalanche has the same size pipe. But my 2k3 has a 2.5 pipe. They all have been the ext cab short bed 5.3 3.73 ratio. I have read rumors that the 2k2 are the quickest of the these BAD ***!!! trucks. Could that be the reason. I really don't think that it has anything to do with the throttle Body by wire. But what the hell I am just a drunk that loves Chevys.

Is the new Avalanche a drive by wire? Does it use a potentiometer or a stepper motor or something like this?

the bigest differece Ive notice between any years is the smog. Califonia speaking, the 2002 has no EGR or air pump. the 2001 has both. think of it this way; the 2002 starts off with the 'free egr mod' out of the box.

My parents 2k2 Avalanche is still cable. Some of the 2k2 from what I heard still had the EGR. I might be wrong about the 7/8 part it might have been 3/4. Hey Ryan what track do you run at? Maybe we could get together at a track.
