GM Restricts Orders for the L33 5.3

Two chevy dealers have informed me GM has put a hold on dealership orders for the L33 310 HP Aluminium blocked 5.3 in the trucks.
Any of you dealership guys know what gives? Shortage?
Overstock on the LM7.

Is this an option on the '05 trucks, or could you get it on earlier models also?

Just for 2005 ECSB........

don't know if it is Z71 or 4X4 only or not. I have one in a 05 Z71 ECSB.
Just curious as to why the stoppage.
