Did anybody put anitseize on the studs either in the head or the nut side???

 

And has anyone removed the nuts without the stud coming out? A friends truck that I put these on almsot all the studs came out with the nuts when we pull his headers...

 

If you look at the end of the stud it takes a small hex socket. I stick a ratchet on that and a wrench on the nut. Nut comes right off, stud stays intact.

 

still havent gotten mine on yet, but i plan on using some. i dont see why you wouldnt.. just cheap insurance if your planning on keeping them on for awhile imo..

 

Here is a tip, if you have header bolts that won't stay tight. Put a round or two of teflon tape on them, they will stay tight and come out easy when you want remove them.
I have Stage 8 header bolts and use anti-seize, never had a problem and have never used the locks that come with them.
I have used the tape on others that give a problem and it works well.

Thats kinda what i was thinking...I used anitseize on the stock ones when i installed my LLP's

hate to beat a dead horse here but I got the studs installed but was curious what you guys torqued the nuts down to?

 

A half past snug.

 

finger tight on the studs and 22ft lbs on the nuts. i did not use gm nuts though....got some jergens spinner grip all metal locking flange nuts. they have worked perfectly.

****...was I the first one on here to use the GM v6 studs?
