gibson v/s aero chamber
does anyone here run one of the 22" hooker mufflers? I did a search and i noticed some of you run the smaller case, but cant find much about this longer on. I have one of these and was thinking about removing the gibson
and replacing with a single 3" tail pipe but not sure how it will sound v/s what i have

I had a Gibson Dual Extreme on my truck for about 6-1/2 years and recently changed to the Hooker Maximum Flow 22". MUCH MUCH louder than the Gibson and drones from 1800-2200 rpm. It's worst at 65 mph in my truck - 4.10's and 275/55/20 tires that are 31.9" tall. I'm going to be putting a resonator on it in short order. Once I reach about 72 mph it's totally quiet running down the road.

Why don't you just get the 14" Aerochamber? It's not loud at all IF you keep the cats in there, it was barely noticeable on my '06 5.3 in normal driving conditions and you could hear it at wot but it wasn't loud at all.
Now, if you remove the cats you better be ready
