Default getting rid of the flowmaster 44s what should I go with?

Im doing my trans swap 4l60e to th400 on my next free weekend, I have to cut the exhuast out of the way to get the trans out and was thinking of changing my exhaust setup, right now I have true duels no h or x pipe with no cats and flowmaster 44s with tips in the back. The flowmasters dont sound bad I just want more of a camed sound coming out of the tips it sounds to muffled. Im thinking a straight through muffler like flowtech or magnaflow will give it more of that sound and I want to dump it over the axle and get rid of the tips. I live in an emissions state IL anyone know if dumping over the axle is ilegal, and what do guys think of the magnaflows or flowtechs over the axle?

Magnaflow. Just get a long one or it will be very loud VERY loud. They have a 24 inch long muffler and it without cats is pretty quiet. Why not get a dual in dual out Magnaflow, it would flow very good and it would have the X built into the case. I put an X pipe on a friend's truck. He had true duals with cats and Flowmaster mufflers. The X pipe gave him so much torque back that he had lost and the motor reved quicker from idle to say 3500. That is also the range that the most power improvements was made.
