Default getting impatient

i am getting impatient with this big ole hammer cam sittin around the shop. anyone think it would be a bad idea to put it in the truck in the stock motor. it is going in the 370 when it's done...unless i sell it and get the 224 .581 112 i was looking at over at speedtek today...they have some good deals as far as cams. i don't have edit yet which is the only thing keeping me from doing this really...someone talk me into or out of this.

great point...it would be fun, but probably not a very great idea in the long run...i guess i'll have to keep thinking about it.

Without edit, you won't be able to idle with that cam. What stall are you planning? Why do you think mine is still sitting on the shelf? What springs are you planning with that cam? Minimum would be 918's with new hardend pushrods.

py 3600 stall greg...at a minimum. i have a set of slp valve springs that are rated at .625" lift so i think i'll run those...but if i come across a good deal on some 918s and ti retainers i might go for it. this would be a fun cam for the small motor until i'm ready for the new one.

F--- it. Put that bad boy in there. Just dont plan on taking off very quick. You might be able to get some lawn chairs and a cooler of beer and sit around and listen to it idle.
