Default gears pulled

Damn, all I have to say is it is a good thing there is a magnet in the diff. My spider gears were pitted, chewed, used, and not even made breakfast in the morning. The ring and pinion look good but as a common problem on these, the spider gears are weak. Oh yeah the E-brakes on these hang bad and chew up rotors. I said screw it and I am not using it anymore. So we have pulled the whole rearend and have started soaking it and geting ready for paint and install. I guess I couldnt hear the roar in the rearend because of the Chokemasters.

Holy cow, mine had stuff on it, but not that bad! Most of my driving is highway driving though so it probably sees a little less abuse.

I am guessing you are refering to a stock G80?? I would say that the spyder gears in my G80 were a little 'chewed' too.

Wow, How the hell was that thing even drivable! How many miles were on your truck? I changed mine out at 7000 miles, and my stuff looked brand new, But I had all the alignment shops tell me that the G80 would blow for no reason, and just look at yours.

I think I had around 65K on mine when it broke at the thunder shootout this past year. After a day of 1.8x 60'motor runs and a couple low 1.7x nitrous launches, I was on my last pass of the day shooting for a new best when it gave up. btw.. HERE are more pics and a video of it breaking.

Oh, well I didn't know you were launching with nitrous! That explains a lot!
