I just went from a 14.5 mpg '00 GMC Sierra 4X4, to my '02 Silverado Z71 at 17.0 mpg. The GMC was a regular cab with 3.73, A4 and 265 tires. The Silverado is an extended cab, 3.73, A4 and 265 tires. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

Nah, your motor is not working quite as hard to push the same weight. The torque on the 4.8 (stock) is not to good.
