Default This gas milage is out of hand!

22mpg highway
repeat yesterday to verify and I get 19 (stuck in some traffic and carrying 500lbs)
GM powertrain

Ironically enough, I recall my uncle getting the tacoma because he wanted to save money on gas

I will pay for your gas if you pay for mine! I get 13.5 on a good day!

I got 22mpg when it was a straight shot and the truck was empty. When I loaded it up with about 500lbs and got caught in a bit of traffic (about 2-3 miles worth, going from 5-20-5mph over and over again) I got 19. I tried to be conservative with the pedal in traffic so that it wouldn't skew the results much.

I'll hopefully be changing the rear diff fluid this weekend and going for an 800 mile drive (most of it through mountains though). I'll keep you updated. I know from personal experience, the MPG hates mountains.

I called PCMforLess up, he thought the numbers were crazy too, especially for a 75mph average. I called to see if I had lean cruise enabled, which I dont. I'll prob be changing the air filter, ATF and adding headers in the near future as well. The big goal this summer was a full underbody skid plate, which I never got around to

Your numbers are not crazy - I don't guess (depends on the truck)

Straight highway driving, no traffic, I get 21-22. But as soon as it hits the streets, it drops like a rock. My overall commuting mpg is usually 19.5-20.0mpg (that's 108 miles round trip, everday)

you have a lowered 5.3 RCSB 2x4 vs my ECSB 6.0 4x4 w/ t-bar cranking :p

Still pretty damn good.

I got 19.43 and 19.56 on a to and from trip to Arkansas this weekend.
Running the air a large amount decent bit in rain on teh way back.Very windy to and from and most of the way driving between 75-85.
I have done much better before on long trips but it wasn't so damn windy as it was this past weekend.
