Default Future plans on mods.

I'm waiting on a w4m tune, I just wanted it for now so i can keep my stock pcm and get a better tune later from wheatley. After the tune i plan on getting coated pacesetters longtubes. Then I will buy an x pipe and two 22-28" magnaflows and get rid of this flowmaster. I think that two 22"s will be quiet enough but some people are saying that it won't. After the exhaust Im not sure what to do.. Should i get a shift kit? maybe 4:10s with a built rear end? I know that a cam isn't goin to happen for a long time so there is no point of thinking about it.Anyone have any opinions on what mods to do after the full exhaust?

I'd look into a shift kit/servos, not only for performance but for tranny durability. Quicker shifts = less heat which = longer tranny life. Plus the 4l60e will be able to handle more torque, and shift kits are cheap. 4.10's aren't a bad idea either. You could awlays go to a junk yard and pick up a PCM out of a silverado/sierra for cheap and send it to get tuned by wheatley, you could probably pick one up for less than $158.10.

I'd get the 4.10's first, so you could order the tune with the speedo corrected.

thanks for the info.. 4:10s from 3:73s will be a big difference? I have a vette servo and it shifts hard from 1-2 and 2-3. will a shift kit make it jerk hard under regular driving conditions? Also I already sent out for a tune and Im waiting on it. It should be here by monday or tuesday.

So wheres a good place to find some 4:10s?

ill look into it..

anyways about the gears.. I dunno much about them. Ive seen 7.5-9.5 with the price going up. 14 bolt. and u tell them which gears u want. so its a whole set. ring and pinion. I dont really know what they would do over factory? are they stronger? I understand what the actually gears are for but not the ring and pinion.

the ring and pinion is the gear set. and, if you already have 3.73s, i dont think you will see much difference with 4.10s. spend that money on a good stall converter and you will be 100times happier.
the shift kit is a great idea too. if its install right and a good tune, it wont shift much harder if any than it does now with the servos. oh... and get the transgo hd2 kit
