i've been doing alot of searching on here for the past 2 days on the ls6 intake swap. i keep hearing mixed/unsure answeres on what's the best way to convert.
it's not so much about the bracket's and accessories (i can do some fabrication), but it's dealing with the fuel rail/injectors.
what i need to know is which set-up would be the best/cheapest/easiest way to go about this.
do i have a return or returnless fuel system? btw, the truck is an '03 5.3 w/ drive by wire tb.
the reson i am asking this is b/c i found a combo: ls6 intake, fuel rail/injectors off of an '02 z28. i'm just curious if this will work for my application. i know i'll have to change connectors for the injectors and maybe have to relocate the coils. but i just need to know if this will work with my fuel system or point me in the right direction.
thanks guys,
lance

Yep, that is right, you have a return style. Unfortunately the rails and injectors on that manifold are returnless so they won't work for you.
So that leaves you with three options:
1. Buy an aftermarket set of fuel rails and a regulator set up to connect to the factory fuel system. I priced this out and it costs $$$$. Also you'll have to modify your wiring harness to connect to the car style injectors.
2. Get a 97 vette fuel rail and regulator so that you can use the car style injectors, but you'll still have to modify the harness to use car injectors. These things never show up for sale used, but I found them on a non-sponsor site. PM me if you want the info.
3. Use the truck fuel rail, which looks ugly, but gets the job done. You would do everything that Kano did in his write up.
When I do this swap (hopefully some time this decade), I'll be doing what Kano did, with the exception of having the truck water pump pulley pressed onto a car pump to save some money. Later when funds allow I would consider doing either of options one or two to clean things up a bit, but I want it to run first.
