Default Fuel pump/sending unit

Hi all,

The fuel guage needle is bouncing around and what not. I know i need to replace the sending unit, but i have heard that i cannot buy a sending unit by itself. I am putting a 6.0 w/ WCCH heads, mild comp cam camshaft, and my small 112 radix on top. Will the stock sending unit/fuel pump combo be sufficient for what i have? Or will i be having to buy both a new sending unit/fuel pump combo and another pump such as the walbro (spelling?)?

After reading some of the threads through the search engine, i saw that some people were complaining about power loss from their fuel pumps going out. Mine seems to have gotten louder over the past few months and i am noticing that my truck is running like $hit. it has a dead spot at about 2K RPM and the power is just not there. Is that possibly the problem?

With the mods you are adding I would add the new pump, especially since you are already gonna be in there. may consider some 60# injectors also. I am going with similar mods and that is what I plan to do. Maybe a boost a pump also.

the radix has a boost a pump, no??

edit: Joe at leftcoast32 said the 42lb/hr fuel injectors that came with the radix kit are good for 10psi on the 112

MagnaVolt - Is a Boost and RPM referenced fuel pump booster. When triggered by boost and rpm together it increases the voltage to the fuel pump to increase the volume output of the pump.

The MagnaVolt is always an option to boost the intank pump. Like stated by others I would replace the bucket and add the Walbro to it since you are in there anyway. Most of the issues with fueling that you see can be traced back to a fuel supply issue. You need to make sure to supply the needed fuel to the rails and injectors to make the power.

you can buy just the sending units now...
but while having the assembly out you DO need to put a Walbro in as well...

25 bucks, ****.. i guess it might have been worth a try.i just replaced my pump, and ive had that thing in and out twice already. ive got the process down now though, could probably get it done in an hour or so.my sending unit is completely kaput and im already sick of that huge message center low fuel light.and, not to be a pessimist, but... it works perfect, but for how long. the original units didnt last for ****. my moms is going out on her 05. i didnt know they were sold separately either.
