Default Fuel pump question...Need help fast.

Ok, with the exeption of you radix guys. I need to know who has installed a walbro pump in a 04 or 05 with a returnless fuel system. ( In tank Pump) I have a walbro gss342 pump for my denali, the walbro pump is about 1/2 inch in diameter smaller then the stock pump, I am trying to figure out what I can do to make it fit snug. I dont really want it free floating in there. Granted the fuel pump sock will help support it some at the bottom. Need some help here please..

All the pictures I've seen (like the radix install manual) show a black rubber sleeve around the pump.

Ya I know, the radix kits come with that sleeve. When you get a pump from anywhere else there is no sleeve.

This thread has more info that the one over at silveradoss.com Why not take a trip down to Lowes or home depot and get a piece of rubber to wrap it? I've bought a sheet of rubber that was 12x12 and used it in a similar situation. or just get a strip of fuel hose to lay in along side the pump in the cup. It'll hold it to one side and take up the space. Just ideas...

Well I thought of that but another thing that I dont like is that the fuel pump sock that i have doesnt seem to stay on well, it slides off real easy. Also does anyone know what Rubber hose is rated to be submerged in gas, most will deteriorate and break down fast. I seen somewhere that D10 is what I need?

If you use rubber, go buy some fuel injector hose thats rated for use submerged in fuel.

If it were me, I'd use the internal hose you just removed from the stock pump to shim the new pump. On the sleeve, I'd bend the ring with pliers to make it fit firm.

That's an even better idea about the hose from the old pump. Should work very well.
