Fuel Pump ??
#1
Hey. I have a 2001 GMC Yukon 4X4 with the 5.3 litre engine that has 110,000 km's on it. I have purchased a used radix mp112 that I plan to use on the 5.3. I am getting all the bit's and pieces together. I have ordered a walbro alternative 255 lph intank fuel pump. I was at GM the other day and they told me that I can't change out the factory fuel pump, with the walbro alternative. They said that I have to swap out the whole unit, for like $600. I was hoping that I could just remove the factory pump and install the walbro alternative pump. Any suggestions, or comments as to what you have done, or what I should do. Intank or inline, bosch, walbro, magnavolt??

They're full of ****. You can replace just the pump rather easily. You do have to drop the tank, and remove the fuel module to do it. They just want to sell you the whole thing. On yours, though, you can get the add-on assembly from Magnuson, or install your own inline.

There have been posts on here with pics where guys have done it before...many have done it before actually and are still currently running the Walboro 255 in place of the factory pump. The pump bucket must be modified for the Walboro to fit, but it's do-able.
