Default FUEL Problems ...!!

Lets see.. trucks been running around 5 years (02 1500 with a whipple, whipple electronics,az speed headers,no cats and gibson exhaust pretty much its whole life... and as anyone with a whipple controler knows .. they suck.. Took it upon myself to go over the truck (tune up stuff, fuel pressure, exhaust problems) anything and everything that might help it doing a custom tune and bigger injectors... well My fuel pressure was 48psi at Idle.. wot 55 .. unhook vacume on pressure reg and 55 psi ... everyone else in the world says they have 58@idle and 62 wot.. so i install a Racetronix hotwire and 255 pump,New NGK-6 plugs but fuel pressure is the same !!! WTF... I look at the regualter... non adjustable.. i look at 5 other trucks like mine and I find one with an adjustable regulater !!! now I am 58@ idle !! .. after all of that WOT in 3rd fuel pressure was getting down to 40psi..so i look on here and see how to "mod" the sending unit... and now.. its 100000 times worse !!! it will not even hold 55psi in any gear ... drops as soon as its loaded... any ideas? is the pickup to close to the bottom? I only had 1/4 tank... filled it up.. and same stuff... any idea? KC

Does your VIN have a Z in it? I run 44psi at idle and 60 at WOT but I have an inline pump and voltage booster.

That would be the 8th digit BTW, not just anywhere.

"cough" bad fuel pressure regulator "cough" If i am reading this correctly, you replaced it....more than likely the o-ring was damaged upon install. The o-ring needs to be lubed up pretty well before you install it in the rail.

Default racetronix

The kit isnt a plug and play for a truck ... its for a 99+ camaro with a plastic tank.. anyway .. I did change the regulater twice... the aftermarket model isnt adjustable and installed a factory adjustable unit.. today .... AGAIN 4times now.. I took the tank out and looked at everything.. again cutting more of the bucket so the pump would be further from the bottom and checking everything.. and nada... if it was the fuel pretty reg acting up.. i could remove the hose and test drive again .. pressure should stay at 62+ all the time.. but if it drops.. then the pump isnt keeping up?
