Default fuel pressure question

When swapping out my injectors for my blower, the instructions obviously say to releave fuel pressure in the lines before taking out the injectors to avoid spillage and possible injury ect... Anyways I'm going to be installing a new fuel filter the day that the blower goes on and my question is, can I take the old fuel filter off and the swap out the injectors, then install the new filter once the injectors are in, because won't taking the old fuel filter off while I swap out the injectors take pressure out of the fuel line? I also plan on taking the gas cap off if that has anything to do with pressure in the lines.
Any info will help..
Thanks

Gas cap won't relieve the pressure. I normally just loosen the screws that hold down the crossover between the fuel rails and pull one side loose and then the other. You may want to put a rag under the connection because you will get gas all over otherwise.

Look on your passenger side fuel rail, there is a cap that covers a schrader valve (valve stem). Just push that in and it will let the excess pressure out. Still need to have a rag to catch the little bit of fuel that will escape. I would think just pulling the fuel filter out you would have gas all over the place.
