Please do not throw a 1000 cfm carburetor on it. What year is this motor? TBI, TPI, Vortech, LS?

I'm guessing that he's talking about the 97 in his sig. If so, its a SFI Vortec 5.7 liter. The heads are decent, but the fuel injection system will be his limiting factor. I wanna say they are completely maxxed out around the 350-ish hp level, at the crank. For more than that, he will need to look into an aftermarket EFI setup, or go to a carb.

Oh, and I moved this thread out of the FORD tuning section for the OP.

Maybe you'll get more responses now.

Yea a 1000cfm wouldnt be good. If you go carb, goin too big is worse than goin too small.
But yea the EFI on those trucks suck badd.
We just got thru with a heads/cam 355ci in my buddys 95 and he is having a really hard time gettin the guy to burn the chips just how he wants it.
Transmission shift points are set at 5200 but it revs so fast it shifts after it hits the 7000rpm rev limiter.

If you go carb, a 750 or 830 would be what your lookin for if your gonna spin it up around 6000-6500.
