Default front mount intercooler

Would it affect my engine temp if I mounted a intercooler in front of the radiator? I am going to try and use the intercooler set up from a corvette perfomance shop on my truck. It has a 4" oulet at the top of the intercooler and I think a 3 1/2 inlet at the bottom. What do you guys think?
