Yep I turned my 370 by hand with the spark plugs out on the stand . Grabbed the balancer and spun it over by hand.

I was just trying to get an idea as to how a newly rebuild 6.0 would feel while spinning freely. Still feels tight as hell but from what I'm finding out no two motors are the same and with the tighter tolerances with the LS platform as compared to old skool Gen1 motors. I am just paranoid for nothing as explained to me this morning by builder James at Rage Motorsports in Baytown Tx. He said run it so I am. He is holding the warranty and I'm worrying for nothing. Thanks guys for chiming in. Now back to work!:chew ie::chewie :: chewie:

Sure you didn't get the main caps turned around.. Happens to alot of people.. The back main faces a different direction than the others.

No. The caps look good. After visually inspecting and putting the pan back on I'm gonna go with it. After talking to my builder this morning he claimed confidence in his build. Thats why I paid the buck for a warranty...

What type of assembly lube was used? I've pulled engines apart that were freshly built and were assembled with white lithium grease... (why anyone uses it, I have no idea) If it sits for a while it will basically turn to glue and you can barely move them.

Some assembly lubes will do the same.

Definitely check clearances first.

Def not white lithium grease... Its red thick and sticky... Builder assured it will go with no problem. Thats why I went the warranty route. Just primed it on the stand with Joe Gibbs 30w oil thru the oil galley under #1 piston and will do it again if it takes me more than a few days to get it started... Damn rain is slowing things down a bit. I go opening it up and checking the builder there goes my warranty! and the reason I chose to have the bottom end built in the first place. I only wanted comment on how tight these LS motors are when newly rebuilt as compared to a Gen 1 350, 383, 400 or 455 Pontiac... thats all.

I use some kinda slickem stuff.. Always takes little effort to spin. When you use the thick stuff it does make it harder to turn.

In case anybody was interested. After priming, the motor started right up with no issues and have already logged 800 miles already. Oil pressure immediately shot up 55-60 psi and settled down at 44 psi at idles when warm... Seems I was worried for nothing.
