Ya can bypass the coolant going through the TB and make a restrictor plate for the EGR. Don't expect much but it'll give ya something to do. hahaha
PM 99silver5.3 about false knock. You need to be 100% sure it's false knock (which it probably is) buy running some 100+ octane gas on a stock timing table. If it's false then you'll need to solder in some resistors into the knock sensors to desensitize them. Not too hard but Jared's truck runs a lot better with that fixed and now that it's flashed with the '01 spark table.

Make your own... Toulene or Xylene and 91+ gas. ~4 gal of 91+ and 1 of the booster. Should be in the 97-103 octane area depending on what you use to boost the octane count.
You're gonna need some scan tool to check Knock Retard. It'll probably be like 8*. Once you have a tank of that high octane crap and you got KR on stock timing tables you'll have to solder in some resistors. That's all I can really tell ya as I never knew about the KR on my old '99 Z71 and now roll an '01. It's a pretty simple fix I know, you may have to pop the intake manifold too.
