Default free mods for 5.3???????????

I came from the LS1 F-Body club, but am new to the whole truck thing.... is there any free mods that you can do to the 5.3L trucks???? Also, has anyone thought about making their own CIA?????????? I have made many before using designs from companies and modifying them... last one I made was for my BMW and it was like the Dinan CIA, and it was worth 10rwhp on the dyno..

Yes, lots of people have made their own intake...scroll a page or two to older threads on this forum. There was a big post recently about them.

Yes, do a search. We just had about 2-3 threads on the topic about a month ago. You should end up with plenty of reading.

I suggest that free mods will cost you in the long run. Two months back I also went the same website mentioned above. I defaced my MAF, and know I have to spend $190 on a new one because my transmission is shifting funny!

I never mess with the MAF.... I have been in the f-bod cars and vettes since the good ol days of TPI.... in the LS1, you NEVER mess with the stock MAF on a A4, besides they are good for up to 500hp so im sure the truck is the same. I am VERY good with motors... I built turbo V6's, carbed, TBI, TPI, a LT1, LS1 cars, I built a BMW race car, and rebuilt my bimmer twice. I now what NOT to mess with, I only want to know what makes power in trucks, and when I say free mods I was talking about home made ram air, and intakes. but thank you all very much... you you guys are great.
