I totally agree! I honestly cannot stand Flowmaster mufflers because they are way overated. I could rant all day long about these things and it's mainly because most people think it's the only thing out there. I can't be in town for a minute without someone coming up to me and saying "Dude, when are you going to put some Flows on that thing?" I'm like, uhh never..

I think that if everyone saw the flow charts they still would worship them, it's no use. I don't even try to explain it to people anymore, I just listen to them talk about how their 40 series Flows gave them a 15% increase blah blah..

What about a gibson? I put a flowmaster on my truck and had heard stuff like this, and I want to know what would be a good muffler to use? No Glass packs... They sound like ****..

gibson is pretty quiet, it's ok but i'd consider it mediocre. I don't like glasspacks as in, the 22" things with 2" inlets and outlets, but i do like smaller mufflers like bullets and 14" boxes with straight through designs.

Magnaflow is a company i feel better about, but right now i'm loyal to dynomax.

I'm guilty of putting Flows on my trucks. I didn't know better! I also had a HPP3, TB spacer, and other useless crap. It wasn't until I found LS1tech, that I realized what you see advertised in Truckin', Sport Truck, etc. wasn't performance orinitated like they tell you. I recently saw a mag. article that claimed 35 rwhp gain from a Granatelli mass air, plug wires, and air intake.

in my old ecsb truck i went from 15.3 to 14.9 going from flowmaster 40 to edelbrock rpm muffler, and the sound was so much better with the edelbrock, but after cam the edelbrock got very resonance in the cab, just a thought for people.

I got flowmaster on my truck and I don't like them. I had the chance to put magnafows on my truck but I heard an old car (I think it was a 78 TA), they had no tone to them just a lite rumble, so I put flowmaster on. The exhaust setup I hate the most are glass packs, flowmaster, oh hell any exhaust system with dual semi pipes (I mean 4" or 5" eco chambers, the piece of that are chrome, nonSS and rust off in about a year) straight out the back, no orginality at all. This reminds of rednecks truck with glass pack turned around, or when 1 tip has fallen off. My setup has both exhaust pipes coming out on the right side with 2 magnaflow SS tips, kinda like the corsa sytem.

Yeah tell me about it, the tips cost more than the exhaust. They have been on there since 2000 so I can't complain, If I had the chrome semi pipes for tips I would be on 4th or 5th set. I think if anybody puts these things on they need their head examine.
