Default Flexplate question

Getting ready to order an SFI-approved flexplate. I didn't change flexplates when I went with the 80-E, but there are different p/n's listed for each. The one listed for an 80-E is more expensive, and more importantly, out of stock until after the new year.

If I already have thet crank spacer, shouldn't I just be able to use the one for a 4L60-E? Is it the converter bolt pattern that's different? I'm just plain confused...

I know the 80e converters have 6 bolts instead of 3 right?

I'd say if you already have the crank spacer, the 60e flexplate with a custom converter would work

well, I already have the transmission in the truck and it's been running for a couple of years now. I just know that I didn't have to change out flexplates, and it works fine. Looks like it's just an issue of the bp for the converter...i guess mine was dual-drilled or something from the factory. dunno.

So did you use the stock 80e converter with the 60e flexplate? I know that PI makes a custom 80e converter with 3 bolts instead of 6.

as far as I remember, yes. I got an 80-E converter from Yank and don't remember buying an 80-E flexplate, just the crank spacer.

Did you tell them it was going onto a 60e flexplate? I'm sure Yank offers to make custom converters like that too. But as far as a universal flexplate pattern, I'm not sure.

Nevermind...I'm a dumbass. I DID get the 80-E flexplate. Just remembered I took this picture before I dropped the truck off to get the transmission put in. LOL

I was trying to figure out how in the hell you got an 80E converter to bolt to a 60E flexplate.

I swear I'm losing my mind!

Now I've gotta figure out what the heck to do. Can't seem to find a place that has the TCI f/p in stock to ship this week. Dangit.
