Yes, all 1500 vehicles will have electric fans.

 

Hum... I should have posted this after I called to order my replacements Both of mine are a little toasty. I had to pry the melted rubber off of the fuse.

 

I melted 2 fuse holders w/ mine. So, I rewired it w/ 10awg wire and no problems yet. I think the wire is undersized for the amount of amps these things pull. After they run for a while go ahead and feel how hot the wire gets. You'll see what i mean. Just an idea for some of you to try.

 

****-Poor engineering IMO. Nothing that could possibly start a fire (as these units are obviously on the verge of - it is amazing nothing has happened yet) will go under the hood of my truck.

 

For what it's worth I've had absolutely no trouble with my Flexalite fans or the vsc. I will feel how how the wiring gets after the fans have a cycled a few times though.

 

I've been running my fans for most of the summer. FWIW, with the 35A DCC controller, my fuse holder is holding up just fine. It's doesn't even get warm.

I don't believe it's a problem with the fans themselves. To me, fuse holder problems seem to be associated with VSC problems.

 

Doesn't the VSC come from Flexalite?
