I believe someone did a before and after dyno after last month and saw a 9hp gain. You can usually also expect an increase in gas mileage plus you don't have to listen to the electric fans anymore. It's been in the 90s up here over the last few days and my temp has been staying in the 180-190 range on the gauge. Also towed a 24" bowrider and the temps stayed the same.

blownchevy: The 282s are a bolt-on for your truck.

i could be wrong here but i was under the impresion the 282's needed a 34" core to be a direct bolt on and that most if not all 1/2 ton trucks came with a smaller radiator than that.

i can say for sure that the 282's that i have wouldn't bolt onto the radiator that came in my truck, i had to get a wider 6.0 radiator.

You're right, the 282's do require a 34" wide core. That is what's in my Tahoe and it was a bolt on affair. No 'customizing necessary.'

I believe Flex-a-lite makes the 295's for the narrower cores.

I think the 295's are the ones that are a direct fit for the smaller radiator. I bought a 34" core radiator and used the 282's. Do a search on electric fans.

Just go measure the width of the radiator surface between the side tanks. You should have ~28". I can't remember the exact measurement but, it should be close to that.

If you wanted to get a 34" radiator it is a very easy swap as all the bolt holes are already in the right places. You wouldn't even need to change radiator hoses.

The 282's will not fit on the 28" radiator.
