air filtration kit or if you have a lot of $$$ to spend, forget the air filter kit and buy a supercharger (e.g. whipple). my next new truck (years down the road) i will spend the $$$ on a 6.0 swap and a supercharger.

Yup, do a 6.0 and a s/c either the Whipple or the new Radix Magnacharger.. get a shift kit and a 3000stall TC. for right now you can do all the free mods. Long tube headers, and a cat back would be nice too.

How much money are you working with??
If you have the $10K do the 6.0 and a S/C if not start with the 'free mods' after all they are free. Making it breath beter will allways help either with an ait-intake or an exhaust if done right either will have similar power gains of the two the exhaust would be more enjoyable (Louder).
For the 1/4 the best improvment for the money, save supercharging or NOS, would be a high stall conveter.

Sorry guys, I was actually tailoring this question to Intake, Exhaust or HPP3. Nitrous would be on the high dollar side of what I planned right now for my truck, it has 214 miles.
A blower and 6.0 swap may be frowned upon by my local service department.
