Default Finally Got Truck To The Track, Nothing Impressive

2000 Silverado 5.3L, Z71 reg cab, long bed.
Gibson single out and HPP3 are the only mods.

Ran a best of:
15.995 @ 84.64 mph on a 2.35 60'

The conditions were hot and muggy with a low baro, but I figured the truck would eek out a little more mph than that. I'll go back with some cooler weather, an air intake, and some revised HPP settings.

Truck actually got worse 60's launching in Auto4, which I found kinda strange.

Any other 4wd trucks out there with similar mods and cab/bed combo, if so what are you running?

MPH seem a little low, but I think the weather had a lot to do with it. At least that gives you a baseline, not it is time for some mods.

I ran my 99 Tahoe, 4x2, 5100 raceweight, 3.08 gears/locker, along with ZBass28 and went:

16.80@82.66mph
2.529 60 ft

16.80@82.42mph
2.514 60 ft

I tried manually shifting later that nite but had GF in the truck. But I did go almost 82mph. Shifting manually I am going thru the traps in 2nd gear at like 5700-5800 rpms.

It was fun but the truck is crawling.

Tom I think you need to try taking out the programing or playing with shift points. You are 100 lbs lighter and were running like a second faster than me but the mph is very low. Are you running 87 octane?

Running 93 octane John

I'll re-evaluate some of the shift points and maybe try running without the HPP. I also need to get that new air intake kit.

John,

If you look REAL close at that picture you can see that snail that actually took us both out of the hole and out 60-footed the both of us.

Remember that guy on the skateboard?

You can see him in the pic, on the road next to the track.

I hated losing to him by 6 tenths.
