Bought the gears from DTS for about $160.00 ea and the bearing kit was $100.00 each. I did the set up myself so with gear oil and all about $700.00. I already had the locker out of another truck I built. I think it was about $600 for the 14 bolt?

I would like to see some more close ups of the sts, like the air filter and pipng. I am seriosly considering one for my truck, but living in chicago we get a fair amount of rain and sometimes standing water. Just worried about filter endurance, and the efeect of large amounts of water on a hot turbo. Not to mention road salt. I really like the simplicity of the kit and the power gains, so any feedback you have would be great.

Here are photos of the entire system. As far as deep water goes I thing FL8Z71 showed what happens if you suck up to much water. I built a box, you can see in the photo, around my airfilter. I havnt been mudding or river crossing yet so Im not sure how it works. It does keep the filter bone dry during normal driving and heavy rai.

STS makes a snorkle that relocates the filter up high. Im getting one as soon as Dave at STS gets back from SEMA.

Nice, that looks good What kind of offroading are you planning to do? It seems that even with the scoop, screen and box around your filter you are gonna have problems in mud or deep water. My procharger intercooler is mounted under the front bumper and it is very open to the elements, I was planning on doing something similar, but decided I really don't like it below the truck and am starting a project that will hopefully end up with a Duramax intercooler in the stock location, behind the grill where it is safe. As far as relocating the intake I did that on my procharger myself with some basic tubing and rubber elbo's from HERE Depending on how much the STS snorkel kit costs it may be cheaper to do it yourself. Here a couple pics, one of the curent intercooler and one of the intake.
